New health club may open in former JCI building in Holland

After layoffs and cutbacks, Johnson Controls can no longer afford to keep its health and wellness facility open for employees. The offer from a major sports club developer to buy the building and convert it to a public health club will keep the facility from sitting vacant.

MVP Sports Clubs has signed a letter of intent with Johnson Controls to purchase the company’s People Center in Holland. The transaction between MVP Sports Clubs and Johnson Controls, if approved, will not be final until later this year. The People Center is at 650 Waverly Road in Holland, and, if acquired, will be renamed MVP Athletic Club.
