According to the story:
The Tech Group, a global custom injection molder and contract manufacturer based in Scottsdale, Arizona, recently relocated its Grand Rapids facility to a 100,000-square-foot space in Walker, more than tripling its manufacturing and clean lab space. The facility creates and assembles medical device components, such as filters for IV sets and other surgical devices.
The shift to the $12.4 million facility has already created over 100 jobs, and another 50 could be on the horizon.
"The Tech Group's objective is to continue to support the growing trend of outsourcing manufacturing and contract assembly operations in the healthcare sector," said President Robert Hargeshiemer in a media release last year. "The move is a direct response to increasing demand from medical device manufacturers and original equipment manufacturers that rely on our regulatory expertise in the drug delivery and medical device markets."
The new quarters include three main "clean" rooms, the largest of which is 17,000 square feet, 15 automated assembly stations, and 41 presses ranging from 28 tons to 350 tons.
