Ada investigates formation of DDA

Following on the heels of a community design charrette, new development and with a major bridge reconstruction and beautification project in its near future, Ada business owners are clamoring for a Downtown Development Authority to promote the village, capture tax levies for reinvestment, and boost economic development.

According to excerpts from the story:

Ada Township has begun the process of creating a Downtown Development Authority in an attempt to ensure the viability of its "downtown."

Last week the Township Board unanimously approved a resolution stating its intent to form a DDA, a process expected to take at least until March. A public hearing on the issue was set for 7:30 p.m., Monday, July 28.

Proponents said having a DDA will help implement the recommendations of the Charrette Task Force. In addition, businesses have pushed for its creation.
