GRAM to bring 250k people downtown in first year

Last weekend's opening of the Grand Rapids Art Museum could mark the beginning of new prosperity for downtown businesses as estimates project that the museum will draw 250,000 visitors in its first year. Nearby shop owners hope they can bank on it.

According to excerpts from the story:

"With the surge in the medical profession that's coming here, with the build up of the hospitals, we're going to attract people who aren't necessarily from West Michigan," said Kate Pew Wolters, Managing Campaign Co-Chair for GRAM.

The downtown development authority is looking forward to showcasing the city to GRAM visitors.
