DesMoines florist purchases Andicott Floral

With the regional development strategy focused on attracting young professionals, life science researchers, and alternative energy manufacturers, a popular Grand Rapids fresh flower market flew under the radar and attracted its own brand of economic diversity—serious investors from Iowa looking to grow their business here.

Des Moines florist Ed Boesen has bought a European style flower business in Michigan.

Boesen, whose family operates Boesen the Florist, bought Andicott Floral of Grand Rapids. The 12-year-old business was founded by Andy Lacy and Scott Lillie, who will remain as operators of the business.

Earlier this year, Boesen bought Amlings Flowerland near Chicago and Piccolo’s Florist & Gifts in Omaha. Boesen also owns Locker’s Floral in Milwaukee.
