European and American culinary philosophies will soon converge in the heart of Muskegon with the completion of a new, nationally competitive culinary school, bringing hundreds of students and a youthful vibrancy to the city’s core.

MUSKEGON -- Celebrating ``a new facility, new name and new future,'' Baker College of Muskegon unveiled the direction of its downtown culinary-arts school that is under construction.
The Culinary Institute of Michigan is the name being given to what college officials say will be a world-class cooking and food-preparation program.
The facility, including the Courses restaurant and The Sweet Spot coffee/pastry shop, is expected to open in September 2009.
