Muskegon city officials have already heard one Indian tribe propose a casino for downtown, this week a second tribe proposed a casino, and a third tribe says they plan to propose one. Hundreds of jobs could be created with any of the proposals, if approved.

MUSKEGON — Severe weather interrupted a meeting Monday night to discuss a proposal by an Upper Peninsula Indian tribe bidding to build a casino along the downtown Muskegon lakeshore.

The city commission listened to a proposal from the Lac Vieux Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians which laid out its plans for a casino to occupy the old SPX building.
