Muskegon listens to more downtown casino proposals

The revitalization of Muskegon and the creation of possibly thousands of West Michigan jobs could get a boost if any of the tribal casinos proposed for the city is approved, including the latest proposal presented to city leaders this week.

According to excerpts from the story:

The Muskegon City Commission heard more plans for a tribal casino in the city Monday, this time presented by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians.

Tribal officials are making plans for a casino that’s twice as big as the Little River Casino Resort in Manistee Township, said Glenn Zaring, public information director for the tribe. He said the casino would have 2,200 slot machines, 30 table games and eight poker tables.

Zaring said tribal officials don’t know at this time if the casino would be in a new building or in an existing building.
