New courthouse centerpiece in downtown Grand Haven

Municipalities across the country are facing the dilemma of how to replace decaying courthouses and city halls whose architecture have determined the character of their downtown surroundings. One West Michigan city has met the challenge.

According to excerpts from the story:

Traveling over the Grand River bridge from Spring Lake, it's now easy to see the steel beams of the Ottawa County Courthouse construction rising out of downtown Grand Haven. 

The top of the cupola structure, which crews were working on Monday, will rise to 120 feet above the street level. It will be the tallest building in the city, according to Grand Haven City Manager Pat McGinnis.
