Renewable energy developments could be in Holland’s future

West Michigan’s lakeshore is a hotbed of clean energy activity as city and county leaders determine ways to tap into leading edge technologies. Wind and biomass energy could be available within the year.

Holland, MI — More energy used by local consumers could soon come from renewable resources.

Landfill gas and wind turbine proposals are on their way to the Holland City Council after the Board of Public Works approved them at its Monday, Dec. 8, meeting.

The Michigan Public Power Agency — the BPW is a member — is hoping to use the strength of its membership to join with Granger Energy LLC. The company produces energy from gas off its landfills.
