Wind turbine to top Muskegon's Frauenthal Center

Less than four months after its inception, a private alternative energy fund earmarked for bringing alternate energy options to downtown Muskegon will fund the city’s first wind turbine on a commercial building. Benefactors hope the turbine, manufactured in Grand Rapids, is just the start of a movement.

Lou and Ann Eklund and the Community Foundation for Muskegon County are walking the talk when it comes to alternative energy.

In December, the Eklunds established a new alternative energy fund for downtown Muskegon within the foundation, which is moving quickly to put an electrical wind turbine on the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts.
