LANSING -- Gov.Jennifer M. Granholm today announced brownfield redevelopment projects in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Grand Haven that are expected to create and retain 200 jobs and generate more than $34 million in capital investment. The projects are receiving assistance from the Michigan Economic Development Corp.
"By restoring these vacant and obsolete sites we will spark new investment and new jobs in these communities," Granholm said.
The redevelopment projects announced today:
o Grand Rapids: Tallgrass Properties LLC will develop a 2.5-acre site in the city adjacent to Steel Supply and Engineering for expansion of the company’s miscellaneous metals division with the help of a $125,900 tax credit.
