Increasing lakeshore tourism, dozens of new vacation homes, and a major new shopping and dining destination all contribute to the feasibility of establishing a Hilton luxury hotel in the midst of Grand Haven's latest development.
According to excerpts from the story:
Morgan Burkett — the president of Legacy Hospitality LLC — said he is almost certain Grand Haven is the right place for a new Hilton Garden Inn franchise and adjoining conference center.
Developers estimated the more than $20 million project would bring 120 construction jobs to the area during construction and between 90 and 115 jobs when it opens.
Councilman Ed Nieuwenhuis said he wants to see this come to a vote soon so Grand Haven doesn’t lose this opportunity.
