In response to the attraction of young professionals and other residents to our cities’ downtowns, West Michigan entrepreneurs have developed a hotbed of new hotspots and nighttime entertainment venues.
According to excerpts from the story:
GRAND RAPIDS -- Is there a subtle nudge of malaise creeping into your life? Limited sunlight, bone-chilling temps and financial woes have a way of doing that. Tempting as it is to wallow on the couch with a "Mad Men" marathon, cold winter days are the perfect excuse to gather the troops and heat things up with a romp on the town. And, if you play your cards correctly, a night out doesn't have to break the bank.
Some of West Michigan's newest night spots are easier on the wallet than their distinguished appearances would lead you to believe. Take Corez, for instance. The lounge, which recently opened in a former law office in the hip Cherry Hills neighborhood, offers a taste of big-city panache, with options suited to spend-weary club-goers.
"We want to mimic the experience of going to a bar in San Francisco or Chicago, in your own neighborhood. It's going to be really different," said owner/wine manager Mike Dombrowski.
