Marina sale could change the face of Muskegon's waterfront

The sale of a longtime Muskegon marina to an Orlando, Florida developer could change the face of the city's waterfront with one of the most significant mixed-use developments in town. Nearly tripling the number of boat slips to just under 700 is just the beginning.

New ownership for Great Lakes Marina and adjacent waterfront property could spark a transformation of the Lakeside area and usher in one of the most significant developments in the city of Muskegon.

Owners John Bultema II and George Bailey have sold the 276-slip Great Lakes Marina to CNL Income Properties Inc. of Orlando, Fla., for an undisclosed price. Marinas International of Dallas began operating the Lakeside marina last week for the new owners.
