The transformation of Grand Rapids’ Michigan Street into a health Mecca continues with the announcement that one of the largest hospitals in the region will establish a multimillion-dollar surgical center in the hill’s newest health development for women.

GRAND RAPIDS -- Metro Health is looking to join the action and investment in downtown's Medical Mile with plans to lease space off Michigan Street NE for an outpatient surgery center.
If approved by state officials, Metro's plans call for leasing 17,200-square feet at 555 Mid Towne St. NE, currently site of the Mid Towne Village Women's Health Center of West Michigan. The development overlooks Int. 196, between College and Union avenues NE, and fronts Michigan Street.
