A west Michigan organization has linked up with Michigan State University to form a campaign leadership team that will seek another $20 million in pledges to finance construction of West Michigan Medical School’s Grand Rapids facility. The team will contact potential major donors with large requests.

According to excerpts from the story:

More than two months after choosing a site, Michigan State University is moving into full gear on a campaign to raise another $20 million to develop a home for the planned West Michigan Medical School.

Since securing $20 million in pledges arranged by Grand Rapids businessman and philanthropist Peter Secchia, MSU has received a half-dozen additional “significant gifts,” Vice President of Development Chuck Webb said.

Webb could not identify the size of the pledges, nor the donors, other than they are from individuals and foundations.
