Rockford solicits community ideas for city park improvements

Rockford residents of all ages recently gathered to help the city update its parks and recreation master plan, suggesting several new attractions including a dog park and a rock climbing wall. The master plan update is a requirement to maintain the city's eligibility for grant monies through the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

A dog park, a splash pad and a fine arts center are just a few of the creative park projects Rockford residents brought to the table while munching on pizza and mixing with city officials at Rockford Community Cabin last week.

Land Architect Pam Blough, of P.M. Blough, will help sort through the ideas and develop a plan.
