The State of Michigan settled a lawsuit with the music industry, and even though the Grand Rapids Symphony had no connection to the suit, it is the recipient of nearly $50,000 of the $1 million restitution.

Grand Rapids - The Grand Rapids Symphony received a nearly $50,000 gift Thursday thanks to the state of Michigan.
The Grand Rapids Symphony will use the money for its music education programs. The Symphony performs more than 300 free presentations each year.
Attorney General Mike Cox presented the check for $49,583.44 to Symphony leaders.
