Urban Family Ministries receives $24,400 grant for new youth center

Urban Family Ministries recently received $24,400 from the Frey Foundation to help with the ministry’s $480,000 capital campaign to build a new 6,000 sq. ft. youth center at 543 Eastern Avenue in the Baxter Neighborhood in Grand Rapids.

When completed, the Urban Family Youth Center will serve as the headquarters for the organization, which was founded by Scott and Amy Vogel in 2003, and its many programs. Specifically, the building will be used for:

  • Educational development in areas such as art, music, and business.
  • Mentoring programs.
  • After school tutoring programs and faith-based studies.
