WHITE RIVER TOWNSHIP — A commercial wind farm could be coming to Muskegon County. BP Alternative Energy, a global company that has four operating wind-farm sites in the United States, recently purchased the West Michigan assets of Okemos-based Wind Energy Conversions, including a wind-test tower in White River Township that has been collecting data for about five years.

A specific project proposal has not been announced and a BP Alternative Energy official said there are no definite plans. However, Stephen Pulich, business developer with BP Alternative Energy, said the company’s initial signs point toward construction of a wind farm over the next couple of years.
