The "Arena South Study" being conducted by the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority has set off a volley of community conversations about disposition of city-owned parking lots, highest and best land-use policies, visioning for downtown, population density and vibrancy, and transportation mobility.
Who knew one study could do so much?
Rapid Growth's March "Not Your Average Speaker Series" will focus on this topic and the many moving parts that are involved in moving from an automobile-based downtown to a more vibrant pedestrian-, bicycle-, and transit-friendly community.

Time: 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.)
We'll see presentations from people involved on the Arena South Visioning Steering Committee, including:

- Dr. David Rosen, President of Kendall College
- Denny Sturtevant, President and CEO of Dwelling Place
- Kris Larson, Executive Director of the DDA
- Lynee Wells, Urban Planner from Williams and Works

This event is free and open to the public. Beverages will be served. Parking is not available on site, but The Rapid service is available as well as on-street parking and bike facilities nearby.
