A new three-story building, new parking, and improvements to the riverwalk along the property are all part of the construction plans for a prime parcel on the west bank of the Grand River. The state approved some $554,000 in tax incentives, so far.

According to excerpts from the story:

Work on a $10.3 million office building along the Grand River near downtown’s fish ladder could begin within three weeks with the state on Tuesday signing off on tax credits for the project.

The Christman Co., of Lansing, is planning the three-story office building atop a two-story parking structure as the new home for its local office and the Grand Rapids office of accounting firm Plante & Moran LLP.

Part of the plan calls for improvements to the public riverwalk on the property.

Currently, the riverwalk on that site is a crumbling mix of concrete and asphalt.
