Business advocates unite to Venture Forward
Business owners will have an opportunity to hone their leadership skills, refine their business plans, and learn new strategies to position their operation for long-term success at an intense training seminar sponsored by a coalition of local small business advocates. The first session will be held on Friday March 2, 2007.
The seminar, Venture Forward, will feature legal, marketing, and accounting experts, as well as a number of entreprenuers who will share their real-world experiences about how to build and sustain a profitable business.
“Venture Forward was the catalyst I needed to look at my company in a new light,” said Bill Smith, president of Compucraft, who participated in the event last year. “The process resulted in a great plan which has resulted in us acquiring another firm.”
Smith will be a presenter at this year’s seminar, which involves half-day meetings for 8 weeks and ends with a two-day leadership retreat offered by the Edward Lowe Foundation, a premier nonproft group dedicated to entrepreneurship and business education.
Venture Forward is sponsored by Neighborhood Ventures, Local First, Grand Valley State University, the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center, and Macatawa Bank.
