GR Public Schools signs lease-to-buy agreement for vacant Huff Elementary

After years of serving families through education, Huff Elementary School will serve families as a church. Well Church will renovate the building to provide space for worship services, daycare, and career training.

According to excerpts from the story:

The Grand Rapids School District plans to lease the empty Huff Elementary School. Monday night, the district board approved a plan to lease the building and campus on Ball Avenue Northeast to the Well Church. The plan also calls for the district to sell the building to the church when the lease is over.

The Well Church plans to renovate the inside of the building and use it as the main church campus. Pastor Tim Woodson says the church also wants to reach out to the neighborhood. He says, “On site we plan to have a full service Christian daycare. We plan to have computer classes and career training things for the community, and youth activities.”
