Michigan Christian Home adds independent living, changes name
From independent living to assisted living to a full-service nursing care facility, retiring baby boomers want to be assured of ongoing health care in their later years without undergoing major transitions from one home to another. Grand Rapids may have the answer.
According to excerpts from the story:
Michigan Christian Home (MCH) is going to expand through the acquisition and redevelopment of the adjacent Metro Health Hospital property on the southeast side of Grand Rapids.
Since 1959, Michigan Christian Home has been a fixture on the southeast side of Grand Rapids, from its campus on Boston Street. When Metro Health announced plans to relocate the hospital to the South Beltline corridor, MCH was able to secure an agreement with Granger Development to purchase the hospital property.
“We looked at Michigan Christian Home’s plans and really felt it was the highest and best use for the community,” said Greg Markvluwer, Granger Group senior vice president.
