According to excerpts from the story:

The rectory at St. Anthony’s of Padua on Richmond Street NW in Grand Rapids is the area’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) home after being awarded Silver LEED certification by the United States Green Building Council. The building, completed in 2004, is one of only seven residential units to be certified in the nation.

The more than 3,000-square-foot residence was an interesting project because it contained some commercial aspects to it, according to Mike VanGessel, president of Rockford Construction, builders of the home. Contractors used the existing foundation and rebuilt the home at the same site as the former rectory.

The project involved many sustainable components. “We reused materials salvaged out of projects in downtown Grand Rapids,” VanGessel said.
