Kent County Road Commission gets $650,000 for city road projects

MDOT has matched funds from the Federal government to jump-start major road improvements in and around the city. The match brings total investments to over $1.25 million.

According to the story:

The Kent County Road Commission received a $650,000 check from the Michigan Department of Transportation Tuesday morning.

It’s part of a program Governor Granholm initiated in July to jump-start local road construction projects and create jobs.

The check will match funds from the Federal government to help pay for 4 road projects.

The projects are on Kalamazoo Avenue, 68th Street, Cascade Road and on Patterson.

Local road officials say the money also helps with other projects as well.
